Landscapes of the same
These are landscapes I made from the first one(at top). I really liked this project because it helped me learn more about depth and how the attention to where an object is placed is really important.
First Mythical Beasts
These two pictures were my first tries at the mythical beast project. I wasn't really excited about this project at first. But I did like my attempt to make the strawberry fish. Especially with the fin I made out with one of the leaves.
First Landscape
This is the first landscape I created this semester. I used original colors to create the beach look with an oncoming sunset. At the beginning the most trouble I had was putting the ocean along the front of the mountain and couldn't quite get them to go together.
Flash Pop Art
This is the same picture I used for my Pop Art project but I drew this in flash. I took the picture and traced the parts I wanted to include in the picture. The most trouble I had on this was the eyes surprisingly. Thinking that the hat would be the easiest but with the hat being such simple lines and unchangeable. I'm very proud of this hat:)
Landscape
For this landscape I used corel painter to create it. I started out making the mountains with blue and purple. Using photo burn I made sections of the mountains darker to show depth. I blended purple and red-orange to show the beginning of a sunset. For the water I took the image of the sky, made a copy, and aligned it with the bottom half to show the reflection of the sky. Smoothing it out I cut it off and made the beginning of the beach with darker colors with the seurat artist brush.
Complementary Landscape
This picture I created after finishing the color wheel. The colors in this picture are the same I used to show how green and blue are complementary colors. For this picture I used the darker blue to show the sky and used the darker greens to show mountains on the horizon. Using the blue again I started the ocean that would be going away from the mountains. I used the lighter greens to show the reflection of the mountain but jumbled the water to make it look more realistic.

Space Planets:DDDDDDDD..again
This is another pic of planets I created. The one to the left I sketched out in Corel Painter. Afterwards I switched over to Photoshop so I could use the the cloud effect to make it look like white clouds covering my green planet. Using the plastic wrap option, I made the planet a bit more shiny and watery looking.
The planet to the right is one I created in Photoshop. I took a picture of myself and transformed into a circle to make a face-planet. Using the plastic wrap again, it made the planet look as if there indentations to my face to give the effect of landforms on the planet. Then I created the ring of '..Alex Shelnutt..' with the lettering but put it into ring form to go around the planet.

Pop-Art pic of meh..
This is a pop-art picture of myself I created in Photoshop. First tracing everything I wanted in the picture. I then colored hat, creating the pop effect on the batman symbol on my hat. I then went on to my hair using three colors to recreate my very colorful hair :3. I the went on to my eyes using a dark blue to really contrast with my hair. For my background I took a rainbow design and paint bucket filled sections with black. I then used the selection tool to make circles but didn't completely fill them in so it would look like they were bubbles that were shiny. I created a few black ones to add more contrast to the picture.
Color Wheel
This is the color wheel that I created in Corel Painter. We made this to help us with choosing colors in later assignments that would make the picture look better. This also taught us which were the analagous colors, tints, tones, complementary colors, and shades.
Space Planets:DDDDDD
The left planet I created only in Corel Painter. I chose bright colors to make the planet really pop. The neon green gave it the radioactive look to make the planet look..'special':). I used the bulge effect on the original coloring to create more depth. I also used image burning to darken the colors and to tarnish the planet.
The one to the right is a planet I first designed in Corel Painter but later finished in Photoshop. I started out with creating the striped colors with warped options. Using the image burning, I burned the side to which it would be turned away from the sun. Creating the 'dark side' of the planet. Using the image dodge ,I created a glare to show that it was turned toward the sun. After completing the planet I switched over to Photoshop. In Photoshop I chose colors that complimented the planet to create the rings, pink and orange. Selecting sections of the page, I colored in circles and used the object scale tool to create the effect of actual rings. Placing the planet in the middle of the rings, I used the masking tool to erase parts of the rings covering the planet to make it seem as though the planet was in the middle of the rings.
